I know I've been posting DIY costumes lately, but i can't help it! Today, I have for you, a TMNT costume!!!!
(Could also be a Mona Lisa costume, if you took of the 'shell' and extended the belt)
I started of with a Emergency Room doctor costume that we had laying around, and took a yellow sweater, and put it on backwards, tying the sleeves in the back to make the skin and front-of-shell/plastron for the belt, i just took a REALLY long tan scarf, and wrapped it around multiple times, before tying it in the back.
For the back of the shell, i just took my brown Poncho (i love that thing) and tied it around my neck, covering the scarf and jacket ties. for the arm/leg bands, i just stuck on some black mis-matched socks and called it good. and finally, i took one of those tie thingies for bathrobes, and stuck it on my head, voila, perfect TMNT costume.
I bought some Nunchucks at the Dollar Tree, and added them into my costume, and there you have it! it could be any version of the TMNT!

TMNT Casey Jones Costume!
A couple of days ago (ok, yesterday) I posted a DIY TMNT April O' Neil Costume.
And today, because you can't really have one without the other, I'm going to show you how to make a Casey Jones costume!

Unfortunately, we do now have a Hockey Mask, or a large brown glove-thing with nails (and we didn't trust his with an electricity-thing) but we were able to do the rest of his costume! (mostly)
We started with an old-paint splattered shirt, that had an almost faded picture of an airplane on it, we didn't want the plane to show, so we decided to just flip it around, problem solved. for the bandana, we just used an old gray and black hat, since we couldn't find a bandana
For the jacket, we just used a church jacket, but i think it looks pretty good!
Now, for the bottom half, we just used some old ratty black pants, hand-me downs that had huge holes in them. PERFECT!!
And of course, you can't forget the baseball bat! Well, there you have it, one Casey Jones Costume!

TMNT April O' Neil Costume!
Pretty neat right? This is what April really looks like (image came from here)
Here's what i did, and you can do as well!
First I put on some black leggings, and made sure they were long enough, then, I put on a denim Skirtlot, and used Safety Pins to hold it up high enough to look like her shorts (you could also use shorts) And put on some random black shoes, boots would have been better, with tall white socks, but I made do with what I had.
Now the hard part, the shirt!
I started with a simple white T-Shirt, then, I put a medium-long sleeved lowish cut black shirt on over it, finally, I put a plain yellow T-shirt on top of it, since i didn't have any way to make the 5 on it, I just used plain yellow.
Now, for the arm-thingies.
I took an old peice of Denim I had lying around, and cut it so that it would fit on my arms, then, I safety pinned it together.
For her headband, I just used a random one I had lying around
For her Tessen (Metal Fans)

You can also make the costume in a smaller size, like i did for my little sister!
What kinds of costumes have you made?
